Kali Joy Weddings
So much goes into your wedding day, it’s okay if your head is spinning a little bit. And for every part of the day, there’s expenses associated, decisions to be made, and, yes, pictures to be captured. Of course, you’re the bride, so all of these decisions are almost entirely up to you and your hubby-to-be, which can be fun but also intimidating! And that includes how much photography coverage you want on your wedding day. In case you’re having a hard time picturing it, here are the different parts of your day I might photograph:
Getting Ready
This is such a fun part of the day! Getting ready with your favorite people for one of the most special days of your life is an amazing memory to capture. And yes, we can do the guys too! Pictures from this part of the day can include you getting into your dress, putting shoes & jewlery on, getting hair and makeup done, detail shots, and even cute pj pictures with your girls!
First Look / Bridal Portraits
If you’re anything like me, these are the wedding photos you’re dreaming about! Taking a little time to capture the love between you and your spouse is an absolute necessity on the day you say your vows. And years down the line when family pictures and cute pics of your kiddos are occupying your lock screen and most of your wall space, it’s one of these that will probably still be hanging!
Bridal Party
A must-have for most couples, because how often do you get to be surrounded by all your favorite people, matching? These pictures might do the best at capturing the FUN of your wedding day! I’ll also make sure we get a portrait of just you with each of your girls, and the same for your groom.
The Ceremony
The heart and soul of your day! While there aren’t usually as many pictures to take during the ceremony, I know each element of your ceremony has been chosen with care and carries significance for you and your family. With the adrenaline rushing sometimes the ceremony is hard to remember, but don’t worry, I’ll have everything captured for you to treasure forever!
Family Portraits
Your wedding is a great time to capture portraits with your family, especially because it just got bigger! While there’s often not as much time on your wedding day to spare as you’d have during a typical family session, it’s always good to carve out time to get a picture with each of your families, and we’ll make time for any other special portraits with special family members as well!
The Reception
Between your first dance as husband and wife, dances with your parents, cutting the cake, toasts, decorations, speeches, your sendoff, and all the little moments in between, there is so much about your reception to capture! Whether you want me there for the whole night or just for some of the big stuff in the beginning, I’ll work extra hard to make sure this is a party you’ll remember for a long time :).
Deciding What's Important
But let’s get real. You don’t have all the money in the world, and weddings are expensive! In order to make it all work, you’ll likely have to prioritize certain things over others, and that will involve some good thinking about what’s most important to you about your wedding. For me, it was my portraits (even above my dress)! I was willing to make a lot of sacrifices for a great photographer, but limited package options that didn’t suit my needs shut a lot of doors. So believe me, I get it! Making that budget stretch so it covers all the most important things can require a lot of creativity and flexibility, and I want to be that for you!
In order to make sure that you have maximum control over your wedding day, I offer three different packages, each of which can be tweaked to fit the specifics of your day. Each one meets slightly different needs, because I know that each bride has different priorities and factors to consider! I also offer extended second shooter hours for $50/hour if needed. Take a look to see which one might work best for you.
Bronze
6 Hours Coverage- This package focuses on portraits and the ceremony and includes 2 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
- You’re on a tight budget.
- Portraits are much more important to you than candids.
- You don’t care about getting ready or reception pictures.
- Your ceremony, photo, & reception venues are close together.
Silver
8 Hours Coverage- This package provides some coverage for each part of your day while still emphasizing portraits and keeping costs down. It includes 4 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
- You want a sampling of photos from each part of your day.
- You definitely want a picture of you getting in your dress!
- You aren’t too concerned about getting ready or reception candids (but I’m sure we’ll still get some super cute ones!)
- You aren’t doing a send-off at the end of your reception.
Gold
10 Hours Coverage- This package provides all the same portraits as the Silver package with room for lots of extra candids, details, and in-between moments…especially at the beginning and end of your day! It includes 6 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
- You’re having a send-off at the end of your reception.
- You have significant travel time between locations (Getting ready, ceremony, pictures, & reception).
- It’s really important to you that every detail of your day is captured (It is the biggest day of your life after all!).
- You love candids!
Investment: $2000
This package focuses on portraits and the ceremony and includes 2 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
You’re on a tight budget.
Portraits are much more important to you than candids.
You don’t care about getting ready or reception pictures.
Your ceremony, photo, & reception venues are close together.
Investment: $2300
This package provides some coverage for each part of your day while still emphasizing portraits and keeping costs down. It includes 4 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
You want a sampling of photos from each part of your day.
You definitely want a picture of you getting in your dress!
You aren’t too concerned about getting ready or reception candids (but I’m sure we’ll still get some super cute ones!)
You aren’t doing a send-off at the end of your reception.
Investment: $2500
This package provides all the same portraits as the Silver package with room for lots of extra candids, details, and in-between moments…especially at the beginning and end of your day! It includes 6 hours of second-shooter coverage.
This package may be best for you if:
You’re having a send-off at the end of your reception.
You have significant travel time between locations (Getting ready, ceremony, pictures, & reception).
It’s really important to you that every detail of your day is captured (It is the biggest day of your life after all!).
You love candids!
